Beyond the classroom

Into a newsroom, or running your own

Training gets you the craft. This is the part that gets you working — a mentored route onto a desk, or your own channel built and launched.

01

Get into journalism

For graduates who have the degree but not the door.

  1. 01Portfolio audit — we read what you have and tell you what is missing.
  2. 02Assigned mentor from the PNS desk for twelve weeks.
  3. 03Live assignments with a byline, edited like any staff copy.
  4. 04Interview preparation and introductions to hiring desks.

02

Set up your news channel

For reporters ready to run their own platform.

  1. 01Positioning: beat, language, audience, and name.
  2. 02Brand and identity — logo, lower thirds, bulletin templates.
  3. 03Technical setup: studio, cameras, audio, streaming, and edit workflow.
  4. 04Publishing rhythm, compliance, and monetisation planning.

What a channel build looks like

We do not sell you equipment. We plan the channel with you, then help you stand it up.

Most people arrive with a name and a camera and no plan for the ninety days after launch. We start at the other end: who is the audience, what beat is genuinely uncovered, which language, and how often you can realistically publish. Only then do we spec the studio — matched to your budget, not to a wishlist — and build the identity, bulletin templates, platform setup, and publishing calendar around it.

They did it already

I came in with a mass-comm degree and no clips. Twelve weeks later I had a byline file and an interview that went somewhere.

PNS helped me name the channel, build the studio, and plan the first ninety days of bulletins. I stopped guessing.

The broadcast track put a camera in my hands on day two. The showreel from it got me hired.
